What we collect, why we collect it and the rights you have over it.

On this page

This policy explains what personal information Bill Mac Demos collects, why, and what rights you have over it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Bill Mac Demos is a web design and branding studio run by Bill McIntosh in Farnham Common, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

You can contact us about anything in this policy at hi@billmacdemos.com or on 07380 435414.

When we work together

Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to a project: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Client and financial records: for as long as the law requires, normally six years.
  • Server logs: according to our host's retention settings, typically no more than 90 days.
  • Your cookie choices: 12 months, after which we'll ask again.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email hi@billmacdemos.com. It's free, and we'll respond within one month.

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, strong unique passwords and two-factor authentication wherever it's available. We limit who can access personal information and delete what we no longer need.

This website is not aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

We'll update this policy if the way we handle personal information changes, and change the date at the top when we do. Questions are always welcome at hi@billmacdemos.com.
